You can only do so much with the FNAF universe!"īut as I pointed out above, there are plenty of ways to incorporate more FNAF elements into the world building of these stories. The one argument I can see being made is "Well, it's a goosebumps-like series. Like it only includes those small bits of FNAF lip service just to meet a quota, and move on. It just feels like it's ashamed of its own source material and desperately wants to do something else. But as a FNAF fan I couldn't help feeling confused at the pure. I consider Lonely Freddy to be the best of the bunch in terms of storytelling and characterization. The inclusion of Yarrg Foxy is cute but it only does so much. Lonely Freddy kinda tries, but even the real FNAF bits feel really out of place. Are there other toys in that line up? That would be an excellent way to pay lip service to the actual Toy Animatronics. Is it an amusement park? How big is it with the kids? (Because no other kid talks about it being a franchise aside from Oscar occasionally) The Plushtrap Chaser is apparently popular enough to create mobs of angry customers when it's "Out Of Stock". Is it a TV series? In story, it doesn't seem to be a restaurant because nothing indicates it as such. Out of Stock alludes to Freddy Fazbears being a series-wide franchise and promptly just doesn't elaborate. They'll have a FNAF character but as many pointed out a lot of the FNAF characters are either completely different and irrelevant versions of them (Lonely Freddy), or they're completely out of character that it feels like a FNAF character was slapped on an entirely different character. Why wouldn't he look at them and at least make an observation?Īnd these moments made me realize a weird trend with these stories. Greg is supposed to be smart and observant. It doesn't even tell us what animals they are or anything. doesn't talk about it.ĭoesn't tell us what Greg thinks about them it just. It doesn't even need to be the MCI, you can do something else!)Īnother scene in Fetch is when Greg actually encounters the animatronics and the story just. Go nuts with what happened at that particular restaurant. Don't need to be outright obvious or go into detail, but have the cop mention something a little more to keep Greg, and the reader intrigued, and move on. You can have the excuse of that alone to have the cop go a little deeper into what happened. The cop isn't really traumatized or anything, he just decides to change the subject.Īnd yeah for realism sure they'd probably change the topic.īut this is a Five Nights At Freddy's story. And, by all means, Greg should be curious about Freddy's because that information would be valuable to figuring out what Fetch is, right?īut the story instead chooses to deliberately change the subject for no real reason whatsoever. It's not like something happened to interrupt the cops, no, the scene was open for them to go on more. Hell, specifically, there's a police scene where a cop mentions something happening at the pizzeria Greg got Fetch from.Īnd the scene opens itself up to more discussion. There are multiple moments in Fetch, the story, where the plot alludes to Freddy Fazbear's being something more. I say this because when reading Fetch I noticed something weird. It's weird to explain, but thinking about the stories I've read and know of only Into The Pit, as a story, comes close to actually being a FNAF story because of the events that happen in it. This won't be a positive observation, so if you don't like that I'd just click away or something.įazbear Frights almost seems.
